I am sharing my opinion on the subject if you feel offended I am so sorry in advance.
I believe Nokia is one of the best company used Headphone jack in their devices (N78, N79) etc. Because just with a cable I am able to mirror my phone to the TV without any other accessories. And on their headset, there are few buttons to play, pause and seek the music tracks etc. Then I realise the power of headphone jack and understand that its capable of doing more not only for listening music.
After that, I switched to Android devices, and all of my devices are equipped with 3.5mm headphone jack but not those features which I enjoyed in my older devices. Meanwhile, this 3.5mm port grabbed to the latest electronic devices even in ATMs.
Last year Apple(Trend maker) decided to ditch the headphone jack and stated that "it's their courage to move on with wireless devices". But for me its a stupid idea to accept it as a courage because if they want to sell their new innovative headphones for a huge price tag, people have to stop using wired devices. And now android hypocrites(Google, HTC etc) trying to make a new trend to sell their new innovative devices. But now with latest devices from Samsung and LG become a dealbreaker and we can easily call them user demand devices with all features including the features hypocrites ditched. And this is a very big example from LG that, they released LGV30 with 32bit/192khz Audio in same headphone jack which took out by apple and Google. One of the funniest thing in this deal was Google trolled Apple last year((CNN news) about headphone jack and now ball in their court.
Recently apple released a certified dongle(click here for the link) for the devices which are not having a headphone jack. Its very simple way to understand people like me that, "apart from business there is no other deal for these companies with headphone jack".At present without headphone jack devices are half made.
You can provide your valuable experience and opinion about this matter in my comment window and I believe this post will help this to reach to the people who took out the most convenient and universal headphone jack.
